1. Rolling the dice
The dealer rolls the dice first. The number rolled determines the starting point for the hand and also the number rolled by the next player. Starting with the dealer, the order proceeds counter-clockwise: the dealer is to the east (5 or 9 points); the player to the dealer's left is to the south (2, 6, or 10 points); the player opposite the dealer is to the west (3, 7, or 11 points); and the player to the dealer's right is to the north (4, 8, or 12 points). Based on the dealer's roll and the resulting number, the player who rolled the number rolls a second time.
II. Opening the Cards
On the wall of cards laid out by the second dice roller, counting from right to left to the stack corresponding to the number rolled, the dealer starts by drawing two stacks of cards. Then, cards are drawn clockwise until each player has drawn four times, for a total of 16 cards. The dealer then jumps to draw one card from the top stack, and the remaining card at the bottom is designated as the "God of Wealth" (a God of Wealth in hand can substitute for any other card). The dealer has 17 cards, and the other players each have 16 cards.
III. Dealing the cards
1. Number of cards: 36 of each of the Wan, Tiao, and Tong suits; 4 of each of the East, South, West, North, Center, Fortune, and White suits; and 1 of each of the flower suits Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter, Plum Blossom, Orchid, Bamboo, and Chrysanthemum, for a total of 144 cards (total number of cards description). Four people play. After the game starts, 4 cards are dealt to each player in each round for 4 rounds. After 4 rounds, the dealer deals one more card (the dealer gets 17 cards, and the other players get 16 cards).
2. Order: Dealing starts with the dealer and proceeds clockwise;
