The numbers of cards A-10 represent their value, while J, Q, and K are all counted as 10. If the dealer and player have three cards that can form a total of 10, 20, or 30, this is called having a "bull," and the second set of two cards is compared. If the dealer or player cannot form a total of 10, 20, or 30 with three cards, this is called not having a "bull," and that player loses.

The comparison of the second set of cards involves adding the remaining two cards together. Multiples of 10 are the highest, and 1 is the lowest. If the sum is greater than 10 but less than 20, only the units digit is considered. The larger the number, the stronger the hand; the smaller the number, the weaker the hand. If the second set of cards is 1, it's called "Bull Ding"; if it's 10 or 20, it's called "Bull Bull"; others are called "Bull Two," "Bull Three," etc. The hand ranking from smallest to largest is: No Bull - Bull Ding - Bull Two... Bull Eight - Bull Nine - Bull Bull - Four of a Kind - Five Flower Bull - Five Small Bull.

If neither the banker nor the player can make a total of 10, 20, or 30 with 3 cards (meaning neither banker nor player has a "bull"), then the highest card among the 5 cards is compared, with the order of size being KQJ-10-9...A. If the highest cards are also the same, then the suits are compared, with the order of size being spades, hearts, clubs, and diamonds.

Special card types

Four of a Kind – This means having four of the same cards in a hand. No "Bull" (or "four of a Kind") is required. If both the dealer and the player have four of a kind, the hands of the four identical cards are compared.

Five-Flower Bull – "Flower" refers to J, Q, K. A Five-Flower Bull is a special Bull hand where all five cards in a hand are J, Q, or K. If both the dealer and the player have a Five-Flower Bull hand, the highest card is compared. If the highest cards are the same, the suit is compared.

Five Little Bulls – This means that all five cards are less than 5, and the total value of the cards is less than or equal to 10.

If a hand of five cards meets both the criteria of a four-of-a-kind and a five-of-a-kind, then the larger hand type is used for calculation.
